Here at Homestead Hill we have a small flock of mainly commercial Suffolk
ewes, and a few crossbreds. We’ve experimented with several different breeds –
(Dorsets, Romneys, Cotswolds, and Jacobs,) and have found that the Suffolks
are the most suited to our program. They’re a fairly hardy and adaptable breed
with great carcass quality, fast growth, and a light, soft fleece that is easy to
spin.
